Shou sugi ban wood wall art

These products are handmade using Shou sugi ban technique, which is a Japanese method of preserving wood. Pieces are then stained and lacquered enhancing the grain patterns and textures giving each piece it’s own individual look. There are no two are the same.

Products will differ slightly in colour/appearance from the examples shown in the pictures.
This is purely down to every piece of wood is unique and will have slightly different markings, grains and knots.

Over time, as the wood matures, natural knots and grain patterns may become visible. We try to keep this to a minimum but fine cracks and bleeding of knots can still occur. These should not be regarded as defects but as characteristics of a natural wood product.
