These products are handmade from Redwood pine and using Shou sugi ban technique, which is a Japanese method of preserving wood. Then they are stained and lacquered enhancing the grain patterns and textures giving each piece its own individual look. There are no two are the same.

Over time, as the wood matures, natural knots and grain patterns may become visible through the painted finish. We try to keep this to a minimum but fine cracks and bleeding of knots can still occur. These should not be regarded as defects but as characteristics of a natural wood product.
